Happy Independence Day, America & all of my readers!
My recent travels to the northeast (Coastal Maine, specifically) has reminded me how truly BEAUTIFUL our country is! Sure, our government is currently in the crapper, but this is the land people from all over the world flock to. WHY?
Well, we have big, nasty problems, but we also have FREEDOM (of speech, religion, assembly, petition, and the press, for starters) and OPPORTUNITY! While the currently state of USA politics is frustrating for all sides involved, I see my fellow Americans losing heart for our country. I, myself, find myself angry about the state of our nation and sometimes start to lose hope. I fear for my future grandchildren and great grandchildren (even though my boys aren’t married yet).
Today is the perfect day, though, to reflect on the GOOD, and be grateful for our country that is FREE. I’m choosing gratitude for my citizenship and my rights as a woman. I’m also choosing prayer for all who uphold our freedoms, and more prayer for brighter tomorrow for us and future generations.❤️?
Won’t you, too?
If you need some help in the gratitude department, here are reminders of some rights that we, as Americans, might be taking for granted these days – right that people in other countries don’t have – especially women.

CAN YOU THINK OF OTHERS? ??
Enjoy this beautiful day!
Yes, yes, yes. Thanks for this positive post. I taught overseas for a handful of years and it totally changed my perspective on special education in the United States. I love being a citizen and SLP in a country that *VALUES* every kid so much that we have legal documents to make sure they’re being educated in the way that’s best for each.
I”m so happy to hear from you twice, Lauren. I love that you can truly appreciate the values here. Sometimes negativity gets the best of us, and we forget. What a great experience for you to teach overseas- that’s amazing!
